Hull

Both the hull and the deck is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. And outside the sailing season, just bottom cleaning and perhaps anti-fouling painting once a year - a few hours of work, that's all.

Interior

The boat is equipped with one cabin, 4-5 berths, 350.0 liter fresh water capacity and toilet facility.

Note: the boat has also been sold to be self-made/-interiored, which means that the quality of each boat may vary.

Engine

The Nor-Dan Summer Family 27 has been equipped with different engine alternatives.

Alternative 1:

Nor-Dan Summer Family 27 may be equipped with an inboard Volvo Penta diesel engine at 90 hp (67 kW). Cruise speed is 6.0 knots. Max speed is 11.0 knots.

The transmission is a shaft drive. A shaft drive will in the long run require less maintenance than other types of drive e.g. a sail drive.

Alternative 2:

The boat may be equipped with an inboard Ford 2725e diesel engine at 125 hp (93 kW). Cruise speed is 12.0 knots. Max speed is 16.0 knots.

The transmission is a shaft drive. A shaft drive will in the long run require less maintenance than other types of drive e.g. a sail drive.

The fuel tank, which is made of aluminium, has a capacity of 350.0 liters (92 US gallons, 76 imperial gallons).

Curiosities

Powerboat?

In Denmark, you are required to have achieved a 'powerboat driving license' in order to sail a powerboat.
In this context a boat is considered a powerboat if:

Equation for Danish definition of a powerboat
Danish definition of a powerboat
According to this definition this boat is not categorized as a Powerboat.
Though, if you install a motor of 71 kW (96 hp), then the boat will become a powerboat, and you will need a Danish 'powerboat driving license'
