Review of Draco 2000 DC

Basic specs.

The Draco 2000 DC is a small motorboat designed by the Norwegian maritime architect Jan Herman Linge in the mid eighties. Several hundred boats have been produced. The Draco 2000 DC is built by the Norwegian yard Draco.

Hull

The hull is made of hand laid fibreglass while the deck is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of hand laid fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. And outside the sailing season, just bottom cleaning and perhaps anti-fouling painting once a year - a few hours of work, that's all.

Interior

The interior is like most other boats made of teak. Teak has the advantage of being naturally very oily and therefore water-repellent, which is suitable on boats.
The boat is equipped with one cabin, 4 berths and toilet facility.

Keel

The boat can enter even shallow marinas as the draft is just about 0.40 - 0.50 meter (1.31 - 1.61 ft) dependent on the load. See immersion rate below.

Engine

Draco 2000 DC may be equipped with an inboard MerCruiser engine at 165 hp (122 kW). The speed is 42.0 knots.

The transmission is a Z-drive aka sterndrive.

The fuel tank, which is made of aluminium, has a capacity of 160.0 liters (42 US gallons, 35 imperial gallons).
