The Saga 35 is a motorsailer designed by the Norwegian maritime architect Eivind Amble in the late seventies. The Saga 35 is built by the Norwegian yard Selje Bruk A/S.

Hull

The hull is made of hand laid fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of hand laid fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.

Keel

Fin keel

The Saga 35 is equipped with a fin keel. A boat with a fin keel is more manoeuvrable but has less directional stability than a similar boat with a full keel.

Engine

The Saga 35 has been equipped with different engine alternatives.

Alternative 1:

Saga 35 may be equipped with an inboard Yanmar 3JH3E diesel engine at 65 hp (48 kW).

Alternative 2:

The boat may be equipped with an inboard diesel engine at 60 hp (44 kW).

The transmission is a shaft drive. A shaft drive will in the long run require less maintenance than other types of drive e.g. a sail drive.
