Hull

The hull is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.

Keel

The Swan 56 has been built with different keel alternatives.

Deep keel

The Swan 56 is equipped with a deep keel. A deep keel provide a better healing moment than a shallow keel.

The boat can only enter major marinas as the draft is about 3.38 - 3.48 meter (11.09 - 11.39 ft) dependent on the load.

Fin keel

The Swan 56 is equipped with a fin keel. The fin keel is the most common keel and provides splendid manoeuvrability. The downside is that it has less directional stability than a long keel.

The boat can only enter major marinas as the draft is about 2.70 - 2.80 meter (8.86 - 9.16 ft) dependent on the load.

Engine

Swan 56 may be equipped with an inboard Yanmar 4JH2-UTBE diesel engine at 96 hp (71 kW).
