The Hallberg-Rassy P 28 Mk II also known as P 28 Mk II or P 28 Mk II is a sailboat designed by the Swedish maritime architect Harry Hallberg in the early sixties. Several hundred boats have been built. The Hallberg-Rassy P 28 Mk II is built by the Swedish yard Hallberg-Rassy Varvs AB.

Hull

The hull is made of fibreglass. A hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. And outside the sailing season, just bottom cleaning and perhaps anti-fouling painting once a year - a few hours of work, that's all.


Interior

The boat is equipped with 2 cabins, 4 + 1/2 berths, a galley, 65 liters (17 US gallons, 14 imperial gallons) fresh water capacity and toilet facility.

The interior is like many other boats made of mahogany. Mahogany belongs to the hardwood species, known for being water-repellent and resistant to decay. It has an attractive wood grain and holds wood polish and varnish well.


Engine

The fuel tank has a capacity of 40 liters (10 US gallons, 8 imperial gallons).

The boat may be equipped with an inboard Volvo Penta MD1B diesel engine at 10 hp (7 kW). Calculated max speed is about 4.2 knots

The transmission is a shaft drive. A shaft drive will in the long run require less maintenance than other types of drive e.g. a sail drive.
